Amazon Tetras
These are two closely related Tetras from the wonderful Amazon Rainforests in South America. Both fish are species in the genus named Hyphessobrycon. Well no not quite. Both fish are probably hybrids of two or more such species. Just like many of the most colorful orchids are hybrids of two or more species.
Whatever the genealogy of these fish, they are really good aquarium fish. The top picture shows a nice school of ten Serpae Tetras, and the bottom picture shows a Lemon Tetra. Both species are hardy, energetic, beautiful, inexpensive, and highly recommended.

Upside Down Catfish
This catfish is lots of fun! It usually, but not always, swims upside down and likes to hide among the plants. For the most part it doesn't bother other fish, but it will eat very small fish that fit into its mouth.
Most other fish, including large aggressive Cichlids, do not bother this catfish, because it's very spiny. So UD Cats make good residents in most aquariums.
UD Cats are extremely hardy and grow to a maximum length of about 4", which is a nice size fish for most aquariums. They eat premium flake and pellet foods.

Electric Blue Ram
Aquarists have kept and loved Rams for a long time, but this variety is NEW! Their scientific name is Microgeophagus ramirezi, which has been shortened to Ram Cichlid. Their ancestors lived in pools on the savannah in northern South America. This is a dazzling new color variety, which grows to be about 2.5" long and is highly recommended as an aquarium fish.

Black Moor Goldfish
Black
Moor Goldfish have wonderful personalities! This one lives
right now in DrTom's goldfish aquarium, where it's a very
busy little fish, swimming among the bigger goldfish and
beginning to grow up. Goldfish can live for much more than
20-years, and that makes them longtime members of the
family. Where will this fish be in 20-years? It's fun to
think about.

False Bandit Cory Cat
This
fish in a member of the huge genus of South American Catfish
named Corydoras. There are too many Corys and not enough
names. This fish looks similar to the Bandit Cory Cat, and
due to the shortage of names, it's called the False Bandit
Cory. If that sounds complicated just forget about it, but
remember all Cory Cats are wonderful aquarium fish. Hardy,
energetic, and a nice size for most aquariums. We really
like this catfish and enjoy watching them in our aquariums.

Singapore Shrimp
These Singapore Shrimp are a favorite of many aquarists.
They're also called Wood Shrimp, Bamboo Shrimp, or Flower
Shrimp. This one was perched on a plant just under the
aquarium filter, where the water was moving fastest, and it
held out its fan-like hands to strain-out tiny bits of food,
which it then put in it's mouth. Fun to watch! They can grow to be almost 5" long, which is a nice size for
lots of aquariums. Being filter feeders, they're harmless to fish, but
Loaches, Pufferfish, and large fish may eat them.

There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $15.00. |

The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish. |
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...
