Glowlight Danio |
Every fish species has been molded by its natural environment, but it seems like this fish was molded to live in an aquarium.
It's inexpensive, gorgeous, very hardy, very energetic and active, doesn't really cause trouble, but swims very fast to avoid trouble. It's really a perfect aquarium fish.
We feed all of our Danios premium flake and pellet foods, which they all love to eat. By the way this is a natural occurring species and is not a genetically modified Zebra Danio, like the so-called Glofish.

Jewel Cichlid |
There are several Cichlid fish species in the genus Hemichromis. The fish shown above may be Hemichromis guttatus. Whatever the scientific name, it seems to be a good aquarium fish.
It's inexpensive, gorgeous, very hardy, very energetic and active. So far they haven't really caused trouble, and seem to be able to avoid trouble.
We sell them at about 1" to 1.5" long, and they're kind of metallic blue. DrTom got one about that size. He fed it lots of premium flake and pellet food, and at about 2" long the one shown above turned red, as you can see in the pictures.

Marbled Sailfin Pleco |
Lot of new aquarists think that Plecostomus species are weird and ugly. But as time goes by most aquarists learn to enjoy Plecostomus catfish more and more and finally come to see the real beauty in them!
There are many many species of Plecos, and the one shown above is one of the best. It eats lots of algae but does not harm most plants. You can see in the picture that it develops a beautiful pattern of orange with chocolate spots.
This species grows to about 12", which is a large fish that will eventually need a large aquarium. It has a lifespan of several or even many years with good care, which includes feeding them premium food.

| Painted Swordtail |
This Swordtail is bright orange with black marks that look like they were spattered on by an abstract painter. Every Painted Swordtail has a unique pattern of black spots! These Painted Swordtails are exceptionally nice right now.
Swordtails are very hardy, very energetic, easy to care for, easy to feed, and develop a beautiful glossy sheen when fed premium food. It's also easy to tell males from females. A male has a sword on the end of his tail!
Here is something that's not often mentioned about Swordtails. The males have an amazing ability to swim backwards, when they're excited, which often happens, when they're jousting with other males and waving their swords!

| Golden Pencilfish |
This fish has many relatives living in the Amazon Rainforest. Some people seem to think Pencilfishes are delicate, but these guys are very hardy and very energetic. A golden stripe glistens just above the black stripe, as you can see in the picture just above.
Golden Pencilfish have been spawned many times in aquariums. In an aquarium with live plants they seem more likely to spawn especially when fed premium fish food flakes. Highly recommended.

| Red Torpedo Barb |
This is not a common Aquarium Barb, but we stock both popular aquarium fish and fish like this that should be popular.
These slim torpedo shaped fish are very colorful, very hardy, very energetic, swim fast to avoid trouble, don't cause any trouble themselves, and are easy to feed premium foods to bring out their maximum coloration.
They can grow to be about 6" long but remain slender, so they're a nice size fish for aquariums with 50-gallons of water and more. This is a highly recommended aquarium fish!

| Panda Garra |
A wonderful, energetic, hardy, peaceful aquarium fish that usually scoots around the bottom of the aquarium or sometimes hangs on the glass.
This species is native to flowing streams, and so it does best in an aquarium with lots of partial water changes and a filter that vigorously agitates the water.
Panda Garras thrive on a diet of premium fish food and grow to be about 2.5" to 3" long, which is a nice size for many aquariums.

Aquatic Plants
This plant is about 24" across and much bigger than the ones we sell, but our plants are premium quality and can be grown to become large show specimens like the one shown above. Natural Live Plants are more beautiful than artificial plastic plants, and fish love Live Plants. Highly recommended!

FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $139.00
There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $15.00. |
| We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish. |
| Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges! |
| We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one. |
| About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges. |
| So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ... |
