True Blue Male Guppy? |
True Blue? Why did the fish farm that created this new guppy color variety name it True Blue? Oh well, whatever the name you can see it's unique. It's also hardy and energetic. The blue color kind of glistens and glitters against the black background.
Got a better name? Click on the link, shown below, to send us an email with a better name for this new type of Guppy. If we decide to use the name you send, we'll send you a free pair of this fish. ;^ }

Red & White Bee Shrimp |
This Red & White Bee Shrimp is shown here searching between the pieces of gravel alongside a piece of Lava Rock. This is a very pretty Pet Shrimp. All of the various color varieties, featured here recently, are the same species, Neocaridina denticulata sinensis.
We haven't bred ours yet, but other aquarists have told us they're easy to breed in an aquarium with a big bunch of Java Moss, which is a live plant that provides lots of places to hide and contains lots of bits of food for tiny aquarium babies to eat.

Blueberry Shrimp |
A couple of weeks ago we featured the Red Sakura Shrimp, and earlier this week we got a nice batch of Blueberry Shrimp. We like them both ... a lot!
The one in this picture is fastidiously removing bits of uneaten food from a piece of Lava Rock in one of our small aquariums, which helps improve the water quality.

No need to Apologize because ... |
This week we shipped all the orders that we received as promised on our delivery schedule.
We asked Freddie about it, and he said, "In the past two weeks we got so many orders that we couldn't pack and ship all of them on the days promised on our delivery schedule. But this week we got even more orders and shipped all of them as promised."
We asked how that was possible, and he said, "We've learned some lessons during the past two weeks and gotten quite a bit more efficient."

By the way, Freddie is adding another member to his crew. He's a great guy to work with. If you're seriously interested in the job, send him an email with some details about yourself.

| Lava Rocks for Aquariums |
Lava Rocks, like those in the picture above, are very beneficial in all freshwater aquariums and fish bowls, where the Lava Rocks convert poisonous nitrates into nitrogen and oxygen, which are not poisonous.
Beneficial denitrifying bacteria, living inside the porous Lava Rocks, actually digest the nitrate. But some Lava Rocks may contain other toxins and not be safe for aquariums. Our Lava Rocks have been tested.

| Cardinal Tetras |
For a long time all the Cardinal Tetras were caught wild in the Amazon Rainforests in South America, but now very skillful fish farmers are breeding them.
This is probably better for the rainforests, and tank-raised Cardinals are better for aquariums, because they are younger and well adapted to life in aquariums. In the past we did not recommend Cardinals, but now we do.
We feed our Cardinal Tetras premium fish food flakes, and they get even more colorful and shiny. Many aquarists say this is the most colorful freshwater fish in the world.

| Green Terror Cichlid |
This fish's ancestors lived in freshwater streams and rivers along the coast of Ecuador and Peru in South America, but like most aquarium fish it was raised on a fish farm.
It's inexpensive, gorgeous, very hardy, very energetic and active. So far they haven't really caused trouble in our aquariums, but as many cichlid species mature and grow large, they can become aggressive and cause trouble. Even so, many aquarists think it's worth it!
We feed them premium flake foods, when they're small, and pellet foods, as they grow larger.

| Jewel Cichlid |
There are several Cichlid fish species in the genus Hemichromis. The fish shown above may be Hemichromis guttatus. Whatever the scientific name it seems to be a very good aquarium fish.
It's inexpensive, gorgeous, very hardy, very energetic and active. So far they haven't really caused trouble, and seem to be able to avoid trouble.
When we got them, they were about 1" long with lots of metallic blue, but now this one is about 2" long with more red, as you can see.
We feed them premium flake and pellet foods, which they love to eat.

| "We Need a New Home!" |
The top fish is a Greater Scissortail Rasbora, which is a rare tropical fish that swims like a torpedo. The second fish is a Tinfoil Barb, which is a more popular species and also swims all the time. Both fish are big, measuring 9" to 10" long, and swim together all the time.
Big fish like these need a big aquarium, where they can swim fast. They've spent most of their lives swimming together; so it would be very nice if they could find a new home in the same big aquarium.
Both have wonderful coloration and a beautiful shine, because they've always eaten lots of premium pellet food, which brings out the best in fish.
Click here to shop online for these and other Big Fish.

FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $139.00
There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $15.00. |
| We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish. |
| Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges! |
| We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one. |
| About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges. |
| So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ... |
