We've got about 300-aquariums with freshwater fish. Jeremy, David, Stephanie, Bruce, Nevin, and even DrTom pick out some of the best to list here !

Green Spotted Pufferfish

13 May 2015
Green Spotted Puffer
This is our favorite Pufferfish and our most popular one too! They do best when kept in a brackish water aquarium. What exactly is brackish water?

 Beware of Bad Advice
Yikes, we just finished making a review of all the advice that we could find on our competitor's websites about acclimating fish, and everything we read on their sites is just plain wrong, harmful to live fish, and much more complicated than our very very easy method.

Click here to learn about the right way to acclimate fish.

Panda Garra

13 May 2015
Panda Garra
This is a wild fish with the scientific name Garra flavatra, which is imported wild from Burma, where it lives in flowing streams. Fish from streams always need very well filtered water with frequent partial water changes.

This is an energetic and peaceful aquarium fish that does very well eating premium flake and pellet foods. Grows to be about 3.5" long. Highly recommended.

Blood Parrot Cichlid

13 May 2015
Blood Parrot Cichlid
Blood Parrots are a hybrid, which means their parents were not the same species. In fact one parent was probably a Midas Cichlid and the other a Redhead Cichlid.

Some say Blood Parrots have heads look like a parrot's head and hence their name.

They're mild tempered and very friendly, and so some aquarists love them, but other aquarists are against hybrids.

Electric Blue Johanni Mbuna

12 May 2015
Electric Blue Johanni
As you see this fish is gorgeous! It's a member of a group of African Cichlids named Mbunas, whose ancestors lived in Lake Malawi in East Africa.

This species can grow to be about 5" long and can be quite ornery. So it's best to keep them with other Mbunas and a few Synodontis Catfish.

Redtail Shark

12 May 2015
Red Tail Shark
This is a good aquarium fish and a longtime favorite. Long-long ago DrTom and Nevin bought four Tiger Barbs and then a small Red Tail Shark for their first aquarium.

This species grows to be about 4" long, and sometimes very old Red Tail Sharks can grow to be even bigger. A little under 5" is the biggest one we've ever seen, which is a nice size for many aquariums.

Redtail Sharks are very quarrelsome with each other and with fish that look like them, so it's best to have just one or keep more than one in a very large aquarium. This is a very pretty fish with it's dark body and bright red tail.

Platinum Angelfish

12 May 2015
Platinum Angelfish
All of our Angelfish are Premium Quality, and the quality of these Platinum Angelfish is really high. They're healthy, plump, energetic, and have beautiful fins. All of our Angels are highly recommended.

Mlae Black Swordtail

11 May 2015
Male Black Swordtail
Swordtails are very popular aquarium fish, but Black Swordtails are not a common color variety. Look closely and you can see this fish has clear fins and a blend of jet black and bright blue coloration in his body.

Whoa! What a great looking fish!! And ... all of our Swordtails are: very healthy, energetic, colorful, and looking for a nice home like your aquarium.  ;^ }

Coolie Loach at AquariumFish.net

Coolie Loach

11 May 2015
Coolie Loach
Coolie Loaches are comedians. They do the darndest things. You look around your aquarium and find them in strange places. Or you can't find them at all, because they bury themselves down in the gravel for several days.

You miss them and worry about them, then they show up again, climbing around in a plant, like the one in the picture shown above. We love our Coolie Loaches!

Black and White Datnioides

11 May 2015
Silver Tiger Dat
This is a wild fish shown just above in one of our worst old pictures, but the fish are actually the nicest Datnioides that we've ever seen. Yes, they're really in good shape, and yes we apologize for this picture.

These Dats
are eating lots of premium pellet food, so there will be no need to feed them feeder fish, which would greatly increase the risk of sickness and disease.

If you want this fish, this is the ideal time to get one.

Click here to read more details about where we ship.

Shipping Charges

You pay shipping to ship any size order. This includes the cost for the special insulated carton, packing the fish, and we prepay the delivery company.

You pay for the fish you want at the prices shown on our Price List plus one charge of shipping for shipping one order with as many fish as you order to one address.
FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over Free_Shipping
There's always an additional charge of Shipping_Charge_to_AK_and_HI for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of Saturday-Delivery-Charge.
We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish.
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...
