Orange Tail Lyre Molly Male

Orange Tail Lyre Mollies

Orange Tail Lyre Molly Female

07 March 2015
Orange Tail Lyre Molly
The top picture shows a young male with an orange marking on his tail.

The middle picture, above, shows three Orange Tail Lyre Mollies. The Molly on the bottom next to the lava rocks is a female. Above her are two males jousting with each other like male Mollies often do.

The bottom picture, above, shows a young female. Females do not have the orange marking on their tails.

This is a rare type of Molly that you will practically never see elsewhere. They are one of our favorite Mollies.

Redtail Blue Loach

06 March 2015
Redtail Blue Loach
Here's another very beautiful Loach that used to be very popular but now seems to be less common. It should be very popular, because it's very hardy and energetic, doesn't cause much trouble, but is able to fend off trouble makers, and does very well on a diet of premium fish food.

Update: just watching these fish for awhile, and it's amazing at how graceful and beautiful they are. Highly recommended.

Butterfly Pleco

06 March 2015
Butterfly Pleco
This is a wonderful Plecostomus species with a fabulous barred pattern. Because of confusion in naming Plecostomus species, many species have a so-called L-number. This species may be L-052.

Some say this species needs to eat real wood. So it may be best to keep a piece of aquarium-safe drift wood in the aquarium with them. But as usual ours do well on a diet of premium food pellets.

Royal Banded Loach

06 March 2015
Royal Banded Loach
This fish is new, rare, and very interesting. Ours are all wild fish, which were caught in small rivers in northern Burma in Asia.

Like many fish from rivers, they are long, slender, and need to live in very fresh water. So we give their aquarium frequent partial water changes and plenty of aeration. DrTom recommends a Bio-Wheel Filter.

They do very well on a diet of premium flake and pellet foods. These are Premium Pet Fish.

Jalo Reef Clown Afra

05 March 2015
Jalo Reef Clown Afra
The Bailey Brothers got a large spawning group of this fish, way back in the 1970s, when they regularly imported fish from Stuart Grant in Lake Malawi. Almost everybody called this fish a Red Top Zebra then, but the brothers realized it did not grow to be large like other Zebras and wondered if it was a different species.

These fish are one of the best Mbunas. It's true they're a bit feisty but not too bad, and they are colorful, energetic, and very hardy. Our excellent buyer just managed to get us a bunch of them.

Rainbowfish

05 March 2015
Trifasciata Rainbowfish
When DrTom got this fish from AquariumFish.net, it was about 1.5" long and kinda drab. But it was energetic and very healthy. It was in fact a premium young fish.

DrTom kept the conditions in the aquarium almost perfect and fed premium fish food several times each day. After a few weeks this fish had grown quite a bit and began to show some reddish color.

A few more weeks and bam, this fish looked fantastic, when it posed for this picture. DrTom says it's really not difficult to do. Just get premium fish, feed premium food, and do the regular maintenance to keep the conditions nearly perfect.

This is a young male, who has just colored up and turned a shiny blue.

This is a very hardy, energetic, and pretty fish that's highly recommended.

Skirt Tetra

04 March 2015
Strawberry Skirt Tetra
People with lots of imagination think this fish looks like it's wearing a skirt. So it's called a Skirt Tetra. These fish are available in several colors, and some people think this one looks like the color of a strawberry.

Others can't really see the skirt and the color looks more purple, but whatever the name this is a very hardy and energetic fish that would love to come and live in your aquarium. ;^ }

Kenyi

04 March 2015
Kenyi Mbuna
This is a nice young Kenyi Mbuna, whose ancestors lived among the rocks along the shores of Lake Malawi in East Africa. But like most of our fish this fish was born and raised on a famous fish farm.

Kenyi juveniles like this one are one of the most colorful young Mbuna Fish. Then later as males mature they become bright golden-yellow, which some aquarists think is even prettier than the juveniles. The females keep the colors and patterns of the juveniles.

Click here to read more details about where we ship.

Shipping Charges

You pay shipping to ship any size order. This includes the cost for the special insulated carton, packing the fish, and we prepay the delivery company.

You pay for the fish you want at the prices shown on our Price List plus one charge of shipping for shipping one order with as many fish as you order to one address.
FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $169.99
There's always an additional charge of $20.00 for shipments to Alaska and Hawaii. If you request delivery on Saturday, there's an additional charge of $16.00.
We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety of the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that's very safe for the fish.
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was charged the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...
