Shipping Charges
are usually the same for one shipment, containing any number of items, sent to one address.

One item or one-hundred items the Shipping Charges are usually the same and shown in the shopping bag.

Click here for the complete information about shipping.

Our Pictures

This website has lots of pictures of the fish that we offer for sale. Will the fish you get look like the fish in our pictures?

No! This is like buying a kitten or a puppy, that will change as it grows and matures.

Click here to read more about our fish.

We stock and ship fish that are the ideal size to ship.

Not so small that they will not do well when shipped.

Yet not so big that they will have trouble adjusting to a new home.

The fish in almost all of our pictures were young fish like the ones we ship that we raised up, and you can too!

Out of Stock
If you're interested in buying an item that's marked "Out of Stock", we recommend that you add this page to your favorites or bookmarks and check back on this page from time to time.

We usually do not get advance notice, so we can't supply you with any more information, and it will do no good to email us and ask us, when we'll have it back in stock.

Comments
The fish shown and discussed on this page are called Knifefish, because their shape seems to resemble a knife.

Aquarium Knifefish belong to three groups that are not closely related to each other: (1) The Featherback Knifefish, (2) the Weakly Electrical Knifefish of the Neotropical Region, and (3) the Aba Aba Knifefish.

Featherback Knifefish
The Featherback Knifefish are called Featherbacks because of the small fin on their back that is said to look like a feather. They are naturally found in Asia and Africa but not in South America.

The Featherbacks include the Clown Knifefish, the Royal Clown Knifefish, and several other Knifefish that are very rarely seen in aquarium.

Click here for more about these two species.

The African Black Knifefish is closely related to the Featherbacks, but the African Black Knifefish does have a fin on its back.

Click here for more about the African Black Knifefish.

Weakly Electrical Knifefish
The Weakly Electrical Knifefish of the Neotropical Area are found only in South America and Central America and not in Asia or Africa.

There are many Weakly Electrical Knifefish including the Black Ghost, the Brown Ghost, and a few other that are kept by aquarists.

Click here for more about Weakly Electrical Knifefish.

Aba Aba Knifefish
Finally, the third group of Knifefish contains only one member the Aba Aba, which is more closely related to the Arowana and the     Arapaima.
