Comments
Mollies are available in many color varieties. Mollies are livebearers like Guppies, Swordtails, and Platies, and they are they are easy to breed. Click here for more about breeding Mollies and caring for the babies including details about how to feed baby Mollies.

Molly females do not develop the long dorsal Sailfin that the males are displaying in the picture above.

sail fin mollies like these at AquariumFish.net, a retail tropical fish dealer, where shopping fo a sailfin molly.   Here are two beautiful Male Sailfin Mollies for sale at our online retail store. One male is Gold Marbled and the other male is a Dalmatian. Both have their Sailfins up. Click here for more about buying Sailfin Mollies from us.

Appropriate Home
Mollies need an aquarium with at least 15 gallons of water, an External Power Filter with a BIO-Wheel, 1/4 inch or less of gravel, and an Aquarium Heater adjusted to between 78 and 82 degrees F. Click here for more about warm water aquariums. Like most livebearers Mollies will do better with 1 Tablespoon of Aquarium Salt per 5 gallons of water. Click here for more about Aquarium Salt.

Recommended Diet
Floating flake food and freeze dried blood worms. Both of these foods are available in most stores that sell pet fish. Click here for more about feeding fish. I feed all livebearers a few Black Worms every other day. Click here for more about Black Worms.

Compatibility
Mollies do best in a group with a few males and several females. Mollies are good tank mates for Swordtails, Platies, Angelfish, Corydoras Catfish, Plecostomus, and Bigger Tetras such as Black Skirts, Red Serpaes, and Silver Tips.

Click here to read about several groups of compatible fish.

Size and Lifespan
Mollies will live for between 3 and 5 years and can grow to 5". Rarely mollies live longer and grow bigger.

5 highly recommended products for aquariums with tropical fish

 About our Fish Photographs ...
Almost all the photographs and videos, shown on this web site, were taken by us in our aquariums of our fish. Compare the healthy, beautiful, energetic fish in our beautiful aquariums to the fish in our competitors pictures. Their fish often look thin with clamped fins and poor color.
We buy the highest quality fish, produced by the best fish farms or caught by the best collectors of wild fish, then we take incredibly good care of our fish in our beautiful aquariums. If you compare the pictures on this site to our competitors pictures, you can instantly see, our fish and aquariums are better!  ;^ }
Will the fish you get from us look like the fish in our pictures? No! This is similar to buying kittens and puppies, that will change as they grow to become cats and dogs. We stock and ship fish that are the ideal size to sell. Not so small that they will not do well when shipped. Yet not so big that they have become much more expensive. The fish in almost all of our pictures were young fish like the ones we have for sale that we raised up, and you can too!
