Scientific Name: Poecilia reticulata
Comments You can order any number of males and any number of females. Males are available in Red, Blue, Gold, Green, Black, etc.
Most Guppy females are gray or tan. Just phone us, or fax us, or send us an email and describe the Guppies you'd like to get from us. Say something like, "I want to get one red cobra male
and two females, plus a metallic blue male and two female." Whatever you order, we'll do our best to match the fish we ship to you with the description that you give us. These are very strong Fancy Guppies. Much better than many of the Fancy Guppies that are sold at much higher prices.
Appropriate Home Guppies will live best
in an Aquarium with an
External
Power Filter with a BIO-Wheel, 1/4 inch or less of
gravel, and an
Aquarium
Heater adjusted to between 78 and 82 degrees F. Click
here for more about warm water aquariums. Like most livebearers Guppies will do better with 1 Tablespoon of
Aquarium Salt per 5
gallons of water in their aquarium.
Recommended Diet Floating
flake food and freeze dried
blood worms. Both of these foods are available in most stores
that sell pet fish. Guppies will do better, if fed a little bit of frozen brine shrimp and a few live Black Worms. Click

Quite often large Mollies will attack Guppies. Even though both Mollies and Guppies are often sold as "Community Fish", usually large
Mollies and Guppies are not compatible tank mates.
Swordtails and Platies are also not good tank mates for Guppies.
Guppies do better with smaller tank mates like the ones listed above.
