This fish was imported as a young wild fish from Venezuela in South America. It arrived in very good condition. It's been eating well and growing very fast. It is sometimes called the "Colombian Eartheater", and its scientific name is probably Geophagus dicrozoster, which is a name that just about no one can pronounce. A few weeks have passed, since we put these Eartheater here on our Home Page, and these fish are eating real well and growing a lot, as you can see in the picture just below. This is a very good aquarium fish.
Several more weeks have passed. The picture, above, is new. The fish have matured and are in great color. We're not selling these, which we intend to keep and try to breed. ;^ } But we have more of the younger ones that are about 2.5" to 3" long. Feed them premium food and raise them up like we've been doing. We love them !! They are very very good aquarium fish.
Just a few years ago all of the female Bettas that we saw were grey or tan. But now we get very colorful females, like the one, shown above, that looks like her belly is beginning to fill with eggs. Click

The Yellow Lake Tebera Rainbowfish, shown in the top pic above, is 4" long, which is very big for this species. When we shot this pic he was swimming in one of our aquariums, and he is the only one we have at this size. But we have lots of young ones between 1" and 1.5", shown in the lower pic, which are the ideal size to ship. With lots of Tenda Lovin' Care, like we've been giving them, you can raise them to look like the big male. Click here now to buy Yellow Lake Tebera Rainbowfish.
Shown above a male Electric Blue Hap,
which was swimming in one of our aquariums, when we took this picture. Many aquarists consider this to be the most colorful freshwater fish in the world. We have young mature 3" to 3.5" males that already have lots of color. Very highly recommended! Click here to buy Electric Blue Haps.
Shown above
Cichlid Stone Ornaments in Mike J's aquarium. Mike wrote an email saying, "I wanted to ... tell you how pleased I am with the Cichlid Stones." Wow Mike, look at all those caves, and whadda beautiful aquarium you got dare. It's just socked full of Cichlid Stones, which are the Bailey Bros. favorite aquarium ornaments and not just for Cichlids. Ceramic is better than plastic. Fish love them. Highly recommended!
New Lower Prices
We've just greatly lowered our prices on all of our ceramic aquarium ornaments.

The fish shown above is the same species as the Marbled Sailfin Pleco with L-Numbers L083 and L165. Some folks call this an albino, but it's only a partial albino, and it's better to call it golden instead of albino. It's a very good aquarium fish.
Notice the interesting omega-iris in its eye, which is completely different from a human's eye or a cat's eye. All of our Marbled Sailfin Plecos, both the Golden and the regular ones, are raised in ponds by fish farmers and not taken from the Amazon Rainforests. Pond raised fish are much better for aquariums, like yours. ;^ }

Shipping Overnight vs. Next Day
Almost all of our
online competitors charge you more for Next Day Shipping than we charge for
Overnight Shipping. With our overnight shipping you'll usually get the fish before noon, but with their
Next Day Shipping you'll usually get the fish in the late afternoon.
We pay more for Overnight, but it's worth it
because we love our fish and want to minimize their
time in the box and the stress of shipping. Packages
from us leave here
in the late afternoon and usually arrives the next day before noon,
and that's the way our fish prefer it. ;^ }

These are all wonderful aquarium fish. The
ones we have for sale were spawned and raised in aquariums. But their
ancestors lived in Lake Malawi in East Africa. The three pictures, shown
above, are all males. You can see they are very colorful. The females
have almost no color, being just grey or brown. We usually have a few of
the many species. Right now we don't have any of the types shown above. Click

This is a great aquarium fish. Very hardy, brightly colored, very
active, grows to about 3", and is not a trouble maker! The ones we have

People seem to love Pufferfish. They look a Puffer, smile, and then say,
"Hey look. It's a swimming head!" Avocado Puffer are pretty good
aquarium fish. They are freshwater fish. They grow to about 4", or maybe
5" when given really excellent care and lots of food. These Puffers are
eating premium fish food pellets, which are much easier to feed and
contain a much wider variety of nutrients than live and frozen foods. If
you buy this fish, you should get some premium fish food. Click

Whoa!! It's really been a great year for Clown Loaches. They are not
raised by fish farmers. Instead all Clown Loaches are caught in the wild
by fish collectors. This years catch has been exceptionally good and the
prices are great. Why? Wild environments vary from year to year. Every
once in while it's very good for a particular species. Right now it's
great for Clown Loaches.

Veiltails have much longer fins than
regular Oscars. Right now we have a few that look like this with extra
long fins and some unusual bright red spots. The Oscar, shown in the
picture just above, was photographed right here in one of our aquariums,
it's now about 6" long.
It's eating a lot, growing fast, and wanting to
come and live in your big aquarium. ;^ } Click

Note: only 2 left now ... and ...
they are very nice !!
These
fish were photographed in one our aquariums by one of us. These are the
sort of really excellent fish that you can expect to get from us. Notice
the deep rich coloration. The stripes are dark metallic blue alternating
with rich golden yellow stripes. Compare this picture of our fish with
the pictures of our competitors' fish. Zebra Danios are very pretty,
very hardy, very active, and when they school together, it's ... well
it's beautiful. This is a great aquarium fish that's highly recommended. Click

Zebra Danios. Click

The male is in the top picture and the female is just above. They can grow to be about 2.5" long and often spawn in aquariums. The male builds a bubble nest on the surface of the water, like a male Betta Fish. Then the female lays floating eggs. This is a highly recommended aquarium fish. Click
here now to buy Honey Gouramis. Click
here for more information about this species.
This is our favorite Pufferfish and our most popular one too! They do best if kept in a brackish tank. What exactly is brackish water? Click here

A lot of new aquarists think that Plecostomus species are weird and ugly. But as time goes by most aquarists enjoy Plecostomus catfish more and more and finally come to see the real beauty in them! There are many many species of Plecos, and the one shown above is one of the best. It eats lots of algae but does not harm most plants. It develops a beautiful pattern of orange and dark brown. It only grows to about 12", which is a nice size: not too big and not too small. It can live for several or even many years with good care. This is a very highly recommended aquarium fish.
Click here to buy pond-raised Marbled Sailfin Plecostomus.
This fish is imported wild from Peru in South America. Its scientific name may be Pimelodus pictus. There is another similar catfish imported from Columbia with a slightly different shape and pattern. Pictus Catfish have very long "whiskers" that they use to find food on the bottom of aquariums. Pictus eat a lot and grow very fast to about 5" and sometimes bigger. They will also eat small fish.
Corydoras are dwarf armored catfish. The ones we have for sale were raised on a "fish farm", but their ancestors came South America, where various Corydoras species live in a wide variety of environments. Aquarists often call them Corys or Cory Catfish, and they are all wonderful aquarium fish. These Panda Corys are one of the smallest and cutest species of catfish.
Click here to buy tank-raised Panda Corydoras catfish.
The scientific name of this fish is Microgeophagus ramirezi, and they are usually called Rams or Ram Cichlids. The ones we have for sale were raised on a famous fish farm, but their ancestors lived in the
Orinoco River basin in South America. This is a very beautiful fish from the rainforest and a highly recommended aquarium fish.
This is a young mature male Gold Nugget Molly, just like the ones we sell. We also sell many other color varieties of Mollys. It's fun to have a group with a few males and several females with various different patterns and colors. Click here to buy several different types of Mollys.
This fish was raised on a famous fish farm but his ancestors lived on the Island of Madagascar off the east coast of Africa. This Cichlid has a unique coloration and pattern. It was mistakenly thought to have the scientific name Paratilapia bleekeri, but we're told the correct scientific name is Paratilapia polleni. Click here to buy a Black Diamond Cichlid.
This beautiful young fish was raised on a fish farm, but his ancestors lived in a place named Pombo Rocks in the country named Tanzania on the eastern shore of Lake Malawi. Mbunas are a large group of closely related fish species that live among the rocks along the shores of Lake Malawi. Click here to buy this fish.
This is one of our favorite aquarium fish !! Mature males, like the one shown above, are ... well really incredible!! This one lives in DrTom's 29-gallon aquarium, where this picture was taken. Here at AquariumFish.net we don't have any males like this one to ship to you right now.
When this male was young and small, he looked like the mature female, shown just below.
We have lots of young maturing Crystal Barbs right now that look like the female, shown above. We also have a few males that are just starting to get some red coloration like the male shown farther above. With excellent care a young male can quickly grow and attain full coloration. This is a highly recommended aquarium fish. Update: Nevin says several of the juveniles are showing more red coloration. So if you order this fish, we can ship some with a bit of color. This is a schooling fish that lives best in a group of at least 6 fish of its species. Update: Nevin says a couple more days have gone by and the young males are now much more colorful. If you order you can add a Special Request to your order for all males or whatever you would like. Click here for more about how to add a Special Request to your order. Click here to buy juvenile Crystal Barbs, which are also called Odessa Barbs. Their scientific name is Puntius ticto. Just below is an even more recent picture taken by us of one of our young male Red Crystal Barbs. This species is a dazzling fish, and the ones we have now are the nicest we've ever seen anywhere!
We have lots of Marigold Platys. They are very colorful, like the male shown above. BUT ... we don't list them!! To get them you'll need to order #3795, #3796, or #3797 Best Assorted Platys, and then make a Special Request with your order. OR ... call our Freddie at ... 1-858-270-1182 and talk to him about your order. Click here to learn more about doing that. Click here now to buy a Marigold Platy.
Zodiac Loaches are cute, energetic, and hardy. They are territorial and ornery to each other but not aggressive to other species and will not be bullied by other more aggressive fish. Most loaches are nocturnal, but Zodiac Loaches are not. So you will see them out and about your aquarium, while the lights are on and that's good.
The name Zodiac Loach was given to these fish by imaginative people, who claim they can read signs of the zodiac in the dark markings on the sides of these fish, but not everyone seems to be blessed with enough imagination to see the those signs.
Other imaginative people think the patterns on this fish look like batik, and so have named this fish the Batik Loach. Both Zodiac and Batik seem like fun names. So even though I can't see the resemblance, I do like saying the words "Zodiac" and "Batik", which also seem to have unique combinations of letters, and that's good too! ;^ }
Click here now to buy Zodiac Loaches.

Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges! We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was changed the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ... FREE SHIPPING on LIVE ORDERS over $169.00

About our Photographs ... Almost all the photographs and videos, shown on this web site, were taken of our fish by DrTom Bailey, one of the owners. Compare the fish in these pictures to the fish in our competitors pictures. Their fish often have clamped fins and poor color, while our fish look healthy, energetic, and colorful! We buy the highest quality fish, produced by the best fish farms and caught by the best collectors of wild fish, then we take incredibly good care of our fish in our advanced facilities. If you compare the fish shown in the pictures on this site to our competitors, you can instantly see, ours are better! Does that sound like we're bragging? Well, yes we it does, and that's OK, because it's true. ;^ }
