Turquoise Rainbowfish |
As usual we photographed these fish here in our aquariums. The top picture shows a mature male about 4" long with a beautiful metallic turquoise green coloration. The lower picture shows a young juvenile about 1.5" to 2" long, which is the size we sell. The ancestors of these Turquoise Rainbowfish lived in Australia, but these fish were raised on a famous fish farm. Order some of the juveniles, feed them lots of premium fish food, and raise them to be beauties just like we did.

| Golden Marbled Sailfin Pleco |
The fish shown above is the same species as the Marbled Sailfin Pleco with L-Numbers L083 and L165. Some folks call this an albino, but it's only a partial albino, and it's better to call it golden instead of albino.
It's a very good aquarium fish. Very hardy, doesn't hide, energetic, .easy to see.
Notice the interesting omega-iris in its eye, which is completely different from a human's eye or a cat's eye. All of our Marbled Sailfin Plecos, both the Golden and the regular ones, are raised in ponds by fish farmers and not taken from the Amazon Rainforests. Pond raised fish are much better for aquariums, like yours. ;^ }

We feed our Koi premium foods which greatly increases their energy, health, and their colors.

| Tiger Shrimp |
This is a wonderful Pet Shrimp. They're pretty with a nice pattern, very hardy, very energetic, very easy to care for, and they breed well in most aquariums.
Of course bigger fish will make a quick snack out of them, but otherwise Tiger Shrimp usually do very well.

| Male Rosy Barb |
A long-long time favorite aquarium fish and a very-very good aquarium fish.
Rosy Barbs are very hardy, very energetic, and very colorful, especially after they mature especially and when fed premium foods. Plus Rosys are inexpensive and grow to a very nice size: not too big and not too small for most aquariums.
Another advantage of Rosy Barbs is they do well in either cool water aquariums or warm water aquariums. Highly recommended.

Swordtails have been very popular aquarium fish for a long-long time, and Hifin Swordtails are even better.
Almost all the Swordtails in aquariums are raised on fish farms by very skillful fish farmers, who produce the most beautiful fish possible for our aquariums. We're really oh so lucky to have fish like this one. Highly recommended.

| DrTom's Kribs Spawned |
Yes, that's DrTom's female Kribensis Cichlid, shown above, with about 20 of her new babies. She looks very proud and watchful, but DrTom is even more proud and watchful, and he's lording it over everyone that his fish have babies!
He's had a male Kribensis for a few months and then got a female and a Cichlid Stone™ cave about three weeks ago. Now he's got babies!
If you want to try it, get a few Kribensis, a medium Cichlid Stone™ or maybe two of them, and some premium fish food flakes. If DrTom can do it, you probably can too! Good luck!

Paradise Fish |
Like its name implies, this is a very beautiful fish that's also very hardy and energetic. Plus it's very tolerant of cool water, so it can live with Goldfish and other cool water fish.
It can be a bit aggressive, especially to other Paradise Fish, but this is usually more entertaining than painful. So this is one of our favorite fish to watch, and it's also rather easy to breed in aquariums and ponds.

Featherfin Squeaker Catfish |
Squeaker Catfish, like the one shown above, make a squeaking sound when taken out of the water. Squeakers are members of a large genus of fish with the scientific name Synodontis.
The Squeaker Catfish, shown above, grows a top fin that looks like a feather, so its common name is Featherfin Squeaker.
Whatever its name, it's a wonderful aquarium fish with a very pretty pattern of markings. It's also energetic and very hardy, plus it can live for more than 20-years in an aquarium with good maintenance.
We've just lowered the price to by far the lowest price that we've ever seen for this fish. This is a highly recommended aquarium fish.

Red Spotted Severum |
Look at the coloration! This is one of the most beautiful freshwater fish in the world. To my eyes the colors rival Discus Fish!
The problem is they've been out of stock for quite a while. But we've been nattering our buyer, and he just got us some that are 2" to 2.5" long and looking good but have not yet developed the coloration shown in the picture.
To get the maximum coloration you'll need to grow them a bit and feed them premium food, which is what DrTom did with the fish in the picture.
By the way this fish is a mild Cichlid species that's not too aggressive. They're also another good example of the unique fish available here at AquariumFish.net.

Flametail Peacock |
The picture, just above, shows a gorgeous 5" long Male Flametail Peacock Cichlid, swimming in one of DrTom's aquariums, when he snapped this picture.
Right now we have some juveniles of this species that are 1.5" to 2" long. At that size they're grey-tan and don't look anything like the mature male in the picture.
Given excellent care and plenty of premium food, the males can mature into a beautiful fish like DrTom's male. But the females keep the pattern and coloration of the juveniles.

| Two Big Fishies |
The top fish is a Greater Scissortail Rasbora, which is a rare tropical fish that swims like a torpedo. The second fish is a Tinfoil Barb, which is a more popular species and also swims all the time. Both fish are big, measuring about 9" long, and swim together all the time.
Big fish like these need a big aquarium, where they can swim fast. They've spent most of their lives swimming together; so it would be very nice if they could find a new in the same big aquarium.
Both have wonderful coloration and a beautiful sheen, because they've always eaten lots of premium pellet food, which brings out the best in fish.
News: The Greater Scissortail Rasbora was recently bought by a customer in Fayetteville, Georgia, who called back and wanted to get two more. But this is the only one we've ever seen! It was a stowaway that arrived here in a bag containing another species of wild fish.
Tom took it home and raised it up, and now it's gotta' a new home, living in a 240-gallon aquarium in Georgia! Who's got a big aquarium for some big shiny Tinfoil Barbs? We've got three of them ready to ship!

| Red Zebra Mbunas |
The top picture shows a bright male Red Zebra, and the bottom picture shows a female with a mouthful of babies, that are peeking out of her mouth!
Mbunas are large flock of closely related fish species that live among the rocks along the shores of Lake Malawi in East Africa.
DrTom and Nevin love all kinds of fish, but Mbunas are their favorites because of their very bright colors, interesting behaviors, and Mbunas grow to a nice size for aquariums.
We feed our Mbunas premium fish foods, which works like magic on Mbunas to bring out their colors, increase their energy, and produce frequent spawning!

| Malawi OB Zebra |
Just yesterday we said that many aquarists think the Malawi Cobalt Zebra is the prettiest of all the Mbuna species, but really isn't this Malawi OB Zebra just as pretty or maybe even prettier?
Male OB zebras can vary quite a bit in their colors, which sometimes include orange and black. The one in the picture lived for a long time in one of DrTom's aquariums. Notice that this male has two egg spots on one of his pelvic fins. By the way we've got a bunch of them available now!

About these Mbunas |
|
Do the fish we ship to our customers look just like the ones in these pictures? Well no, the fish in the pictures are older and larger than the ones we usually ship to customers. We ship fish, when they're smaller, more able to adjust to making the trip and to living in new surroundings. But they'll be Premium Pet Fish that have the potential to look as good as the fish in these pictures. ;^ }

Many aquarists think this is the prettiest of all the Mbuna species from Lake Malawi in East Africa. The one in this picture was about 5" long when DrTom photographed it a long-long time ago. We try our best to keep shipping charges down, but we want to maximize the safety to the fish that are shipped, because we love them a lot. So we ship using "Overnight". The boxes leave here late in the afternoon and almost always arrive before noon the next day, and that is very safe for the fish.
Long ago a very nice fellow ordered one Ghost Shrimp for much less than $1.00 and the shipping charges were much, much more than that for one small box. Before shipping, we called him, and he said he was perfectly happy with the charges!
We were amazed and ended up sending him two extra free shrimps. He called back a couple of days later to thank us, and even said that it's much better watching three shrimps interact than just having one.
About a week or two later he order hundreds of fish. In fact his order required three or four large boxes! He was changed the same shipping charges.
So ... one shrimp or hundreds of fish the shipping charges are usually the same ... except we now temporarily offer ...

Almost all the photographs and videos, shown on this web site, were taken
by us in our aquariums of our fish. Compare the healthy,
beautiful, energetic fish in our beautiful aquariums to the
fish in our competitors pictures. Their fish often look thin
with clamped fins and poor color.
We buy the highest quality fish, produced by the best fish
farms or caught by the best collectors of wild fish, then we take incredibly good care of our fish in our beautiful aquariums. If you compare the pictures on this site to our competitors pictures, you can instantly see, our fish and aquariums are better!
